Christmas Day CHAOS! Swimmers Defy Warnings, Trigger MASSIVE Rescue!
Did holiday cheer turn into a terrifying nightmare for dozens of Christmas swimmers? Despite a yellow weather warning for strong winds, emergency services were scrambled to a Devon beach on Christmas Day after concerns were raised for individuals who defied safety warnings and entered the treacherous waters. Police confirmed they were called to Budleigh Salterton at 10 am, initiating a massive multi-agency rescue operation. Coastguard and RNLI crews, alongside police and ambulance services, launched an extensive search involving multiple lifeboats and search and rescue helicopters. Thankfully, a number of people were safely brought ashore and awaited assessment by paramedics, but search efforts continued for others. This dramatic incident unfolded as many other traditional Christmas and Boxing Day swims across Devon and Cornwall were prudently cancelled due to the severe weather. This starkly contrasted with events in Dublin, where huge crowds safely enjoyed their annual swim. For more gripping stories and breaking news, make sure to subscribe to our channel!
