Kamala Harris Warns of Trump Meddling in Midterms: Can She Deliver a Too Big to Rig Turnout?
Did you know that 80% of eligible voters in the US don't participate in midterm elections? Kamala Harris is urging a massive turnout to change this, calling it a "too big to rig" moment for the midterms. The former vice president is campaigning across seven states, ending with a visit to Georgia, where she accused the US Supreme Court of "backdoor racism" with its decision to gut the Voting Rights Act. Harris is also pushing fellow Democrats to govern aggressively and is considering a possible run for president again. She's been hitting the campaign trail hard, visiting early presidential primary states like Nevada, New Hampshire, and Michigan. In a swipe at Trump, she called him the "decorator in chief" for his White House renovations and gold adornments. Harris is urging Democrats to be "transactional" and demand more from politicians. She's also advocating for structural work to reinvigorate American democracy, including US Supreme Court expansion, statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and reconsideration of the Electoral College. With the midterms just around the corner, Harris is warning that Trump could try to meddle in the election.
